About Foyle Sailability

Foyle Sailability is a cross border voluntary organisation which aims to deliver opportunities for sailing and other water-based activities to people with disabilities from across the North West region of Ireland.

We make these sports accessible with the help of specialised equipment, such as a hoist at Foyle Port Marina; accessible boats, such as the Hansa 303; access to the water via pontoons at Foyle Port Marina and Greencastle; and support from trained and qualified volunteers.

We welcome participation from anyone with a disability or who faces severe disadvantage – whether you have any on the water experience or not!

Our events are low cost or free with sessions at Foyle Port Marina every 2 weeks tide and weather dependent .

Please note that these are individual sailing sessions only.  Booking is essential and with all our activity is entirely weather dependent.  Parents/carers must stay onsite during the session.
To book, please email foylesailability@gmail.com or call Ken Curry (Secretary) on 07779008459.

In the short-term, we are giving people with disabilities the chance to take to the water themselves, with expert help. In the longer-term, we want to offer the kind of support which enables those of us with disabilities to aspire towards the highest levels of sailing or water sport skills. In a Paralympics year, that message is particularly important.
